Jigme Rinpoche
Lama Jigme Rinpoche is the brother of the 14th Shamar Rinpoche and the nephew of the 16th Karmapa. He received extensive teachings from the 16th Karmapa, who during his first visit to Europe left him there as his representative, a role that he has carried out faithfully ever since. Jigme Rinpoche has guided Karmapa’s European seat, Dhagpo Kagyu Ling in France and, after the death of Shamar Rinpoche, took responsibility for the Bodhipath Centres he established. Jigme Rinpoche also serves as the General Secretary of the Karma Kagyu Lineage.
Jigme Rinpoche visited the United Kingdom together with the 16th Karmapa in the 1970s, and the 17th Karmapa in the 2000s. He played an key role in the process of acquiring the Beaufoy Institute, the headquarters of Diamond Way Buddhism in the United Kingdom.
